Streamline Your GSA Contract: A Step-by-Step Guide to Adding New Services with FCP and eMod
Are you a GSA vendor looking to expand your offerings? The FAS Catalog Platform (FCP) Add Services catalog action is your essential tool for adding new services, solutions, and products to your auto-published Price List. This powerful feature, designed to help you bring new “services plus” offerings to the market, involves a two-part process utilizing both eMod and FCP. Let’s break down how to master this process.
Understanding the Add Services Action
The Add Services action in FCP allows you to introduce new services and “services plus” offerings. This term “services plus” is quite broad, encompassing services, solutions, and even products not currently sold on GSA Advantage. These additions are managed through the FCP Services Plus File.
Your journey begins by adding your proposed new services or offerings to this file. This submission then goes through a crucial CS/CO review. Once approved, the exciting part happens: your new services plus offerings are auto-published to your FCP Price List within the GSA Advantage environment, making them available to government buyers.
Step 1: Initiating Your Modification in eMod
Before you can create an FCP Add Services catalog action, you must first create an applicable modification in eMod. Skipping this critical first step will result in a validation message from FCP, prompting you to complete it.
Here’s how to do it:
- Navigate to your contract in eMod.
- In the New eMod section, press the Select Contract button.
- On the “Select Modification Types” page, you’ll need to choose one of the following modification types that map directly to an FCP Add Services action:
- Add Labor Category and/or Service Offerings
- Add Products (specifically for products not sold on GSA Advantage)
- ADD SIN
- Select the modification type that best fits your proposed addition.
- Press the Submit Online button to create the modification.
- Crucially, make note of the eMod ID that is generated, as you will need this identifier in the next step.
Step 2: Creating the Add Services Action in FCP
With your eMod modification in place, you’re ready to move to FCP:
- In eMod, go to the Upload Documents section.
- Look for the Price Proposal Template document and press the Go to FCP button associated with it. This will open FCP in a new browser tab.
- If you’re not already logged in, you will be prompted to enter your FAS ID login credentials.
- Once logged in, identify the applicable contract and press the Access Catalog button to enter your catalog.
- Press the New Catalog Action button.
- Select the Add Services action type. This will expand to show more information.
- From the eMod ID dropdown menu, select the modification you created earlier. This menu displays all eMod IDs applicable to your contract’s action type.
- Remember: If you did not start your Add Services action in eMod, you will not find an applicable eMod ID here.
- Select the option: “My catalog will use the Services Plus File to auto-publish a price list.”
- Finally, press the Continue button to create your FCP action.
And there you have it! By following these steps, you’ve successfully created your FCP Add Services catalog action, putting you on the path to expanding your offerings and enhancing your GSA contract.
